Privacy Policy

Dinesh Saravanan is a personal initiative by Dinesh Saravanan, a social activist based in Vellore, Tamil Nadu, India. This site documents his work and accepts voluntary donations from supporters. References to "we", "us", or "our" mean Dinesh Saravanan and any authorised volunteers handling the site.

• Contact form: name, email address, optional phone number, subject and message — provided by you when you submit the contact form.
• Donations: name, optional email/phone, the amount, and any message you choose to include. If you tick "Show as anonymous", your name is hidden on the public donor wall but Dinesh still sees it privately.
• Payment data: handled entirely by Razorpay or PayPal. We never see or store full card numbers, CVVs, or UPI PINs. We only retain the order/payment IDs they return so the donation can be reconciled.
• Analytics: if Google Analytics is enabled, we collect anonymised page views, device/browser, and approximate geography. We do not use this data to identify individuals.
• Cookies: a small administrative session cookie (only set if you log into the admin panel) and analytics cookies (only if Analytics is enabled). No advertising or tracking cookies are set by this site.

• To respond to your messages.
• To process and confirm your donation.
• To send a thank-you email (you can decline by leaving the email field blank).
• To publish — only if you do not tick "Anonymous" — your first name + amount on the public donor wall, as transparency proof for other donors.
• To improve the site (anonymised analytics only).

We never sell, rent, or share your personal data with marketers.

Donation records are retained indefinitely for accounting, statutory, and transparency purposes. Contact submissions are kept until manually deleted by the admin. You can request deletion at any time by emailing us.

Data is stored in MongoDB Atlas (encrypted at rest and in transit). Uploaded images are served from Cloudflare R2. Payment data lives only with Razorpay and PayPal under their own privacy notices.

Under Indian law (DPDP Act 2023) and the EU GDPR where applicable, you have the right to:

• Access the data we hold about you.
• Correct it if it is inaccurate.
• Request deletion (subject to legal retention rules).
• Withdraw consent for any non-essential processing.
• Lodge a complaint with the appropriate data authority.

This site is not directed at children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect any changes.
